HOUSE RULES

By purchasing a ticket to our drive-in theatre you agree to abide by the following rules:

  • Absolutely NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK

  • No illegal substances

  • All pets must be kept on leash & please help us by cleaning up after your pet

  • Movies play rain or shine, no refunds

  • Littering will not be tolerated and you may be asked to leave (no refunds) if you are found to be littering on-site

  • Enter at your own risk - we are not responsible for lost or stolen items, although we do have a lost and found if you do lose something and we find it (check with us the next business day). You are to be aware of your own surroundings and those you are responsible for. Please abide by our site signage and do not climb structures. This is an open, dark field, with cars moving around. Please be aware of your surroundings.

  • Parking RULES and suggestions:

    • On slower nights - Park in the center of the two white posts. On busier nights (Fri / Sat) we will encourage double parking. Please be kind to your neighbours and give them some space. Our parking attendants can help you park (they are wise beyond their years). On busier nights you will be directed to park NEXT to a white post.

    • We encourage you to stay comfy in your vehicle. However, if you choose to sit in chairs outside of your vehicle you are only allowed to set up directly infront or behind your vehicle. You cannot encroach on the spaces beside you unless you know your neighbour. You can have your trunk open and sit inside your truck bed. Please do not sit on the ground outside of your vehicle unless it is directly infront or behind your vehicle. We do not want you to be run over because another patron did not see you lying in the dark, in the grass.

    • Bug netting is allowed, but setting up tents within your spot is not - it is an extreme safety hazard given cars are often driving around at night. As well you block view lines, etc. If you are unsure, please ask. If you cannot adhere to these rules you will be politely asked to leave (no refunds).

    • We have had visits from by-law in the past and we adhere to a specific set of safety standards and rules so we can keep operating safely in the hopes of creating a fun, memorable experience, and hopefully be around for many years to come!

FAQs

What Movies are playing tonight?

Please visit THIS LINK to see all of the movies and dates we are running films. Be sure to book for the right night and movie as we do not offer refunds on tickets. Start times vary as the days get longer and shorter. Please arrive a minimum of 30 min before sundown to ensure you are onsite for the start of the movie and parked as to not disturb other patrons. If it’s dark, you’re late! SUNDAYS are CAPTIONED movie nights - so if you like to read your movie, now you can! PUBLIC MOVIE SEASON 2024 starts June 21, 2024 and ends after our last movies on Sun Sept 1/2024.

Can you host my wedding, graduation, musical event, work gathering, corporate event, yoga classes?

We would love to talk to you about your event. Please send us an email outlining your event, how many cars you would like to have parked, if it’s day or night, and approximately what time of year. Our email is: hello (at) themustangpec.ca. Last year we hosted weddings, banquets, music festivals, private corporate nights and more! This year we have a BIRTHDAY program launching. Stay tuned to our events page for that info.

Are there food & drinks available?

YES, we 100% offer food and drinks and we do not allow outside food and drinks. We have a walk up takeout window for the 2024 season. We offer food that is packed to go and easy to carry back to your car. We also offer hot food options usually available until intermission (and while supplies last) and are happy to entertain any of your dietary questions. We do not serve alcohol.

Can I bring my own food?

NO. We do not permit outside food. Thank you in advance for your cooperation. Sneaking in food hurts our business. Did you know the ticket price you pay to enter largely supports the studios who ‘own’ the movies. it’s a thing. Usually 50-85% of that ticket price goes back to the studios. New movies can be upwards of 90% depending on the studio deal. So that means selling popcorn & tshirts helps us pay our employees, keep the site extra clean and safe, and support small site upgrades (have you seen our new bathrooms!).

Can I bring my dog?

Well behaved, leashed, pups are welcome. Please do clean up after your animal and consider the comfort of those around you. Not everyone’s a dog person, and not every dog is a people lover, so please be kind to your neighbours and those parked around you.

Can I switch screens between movies?

We ask that you commit to your parking spot and screen prior to the start of your movie as we do pay the studio for your attendance. Feel free to check in with our parking team if you have further questions or are looking for optimal parking to accommodate your request.

What if it rains?

The SHOW MUST GO ON! We still run the movies if it rains, even pouring, but if there is an extreme weather event resulting in a closure we will update our social media & message ticket holders to make the announcement (just another great reason to buy your ticket online in advance). If we need to close for any reason once a movie has started you will be compensated with tickets to a future screening, once the movies have started we pay the studio for your attendance - so sadly we cannot offer full refunds. We are typically busy on rain nights because no one wants to sit in a tent at Sandbanks in the rain! Usually on rain nights we find the rain at gate time results in epic rainbows at sunset. Something to consider.

When should I show up?

Check our site for gate times, but we typically open an hour before sunset to allow lots of time to get settled in your parking spot and stock up on goodies from the snack bar. To check the sunset schedule visit this link: CLICK HERE. June movies start around 930, gates are around 8pm vs end of August we are starting movies around 830/845 PM , with gates opening around 730/745pm.

Where do I buy tickets? Is it cash only?

While we prefer contactless payment we do accept cash. We accept credit and debit cards and cash onsite for both tickets and concessions as well as the pre-purchase of tickets via THIS LINK on our site. We do NOT have an ATM.

What time does the box office open/close?

The box office generally opens one hour before movie time, although we may sometimes open the gates earlier for various reasons. We close the box office just after the second movie starts, we recommend arriving 1hr after sunset to ensure you’re on the lot for the second movie before gates close.

Can I skip the first movie and only watch the second (or third if we are showing multiples) movie?

You sure can but space is limited, so please keep that in mind. You have until just after the second movie starts to get your tickets. We recommend arriving arriving 15 min before the end of the fist movie to ensure you get on lot before all the cars start moving around. Or 1hr after the first movie starts. This way you are on the lot before the chaos of intermission and can then move your car into an optimal parking spot once intermission hits. YES - many of the cars leave after the first movie. YES it is still the full price of the carload even if you are just seeing the second movie. We pay studios based on a BUNDLE of two movies (whether you just watch one).

If I do not enjoy the movie, can I get my money back?

We’re sorry you didn’t enjoy the movie. We’re like every other theatre and we do NOT offer refunds if you didn’t like the movie.

What is a trunk show market?

We LOVED hosting our TrunkShow Markets - we were the first drive in to launch them in Ontario after the pandemic and helped mentor other drive-ins to build them. We have decided to NOT do trunkshows in 2024 and hope to bring them back for 2025. These open air flea markets we had hosted did happen on Sundays all summer long and hosted 60-80 vendors with music, kids activites, and more. With over 10,000 visitors a summer season they are pretty popular and we look forward to relaunching them in the future.

Do you serve Beer? Wine?

We do not serve alcohol or cannabis. It’s a drive-in. Impaired driving post movie would really ruin the whole experience for everyone, don’t you think?

Can I park backwards and sit in the bed of my truck / trunk of my car?

Please be aware of your surroundings and your neighbours. We DO allow you to sit inside the bed of your truck, or back of you car/suv/van however we need all customers to consider those around you as it relates to visibility and social distancing. Please do not raise your hatch higher than your vehicle, please no shouting/spitting/or disturbing other patrons while sitting in the back of your truck/SUV/Van/Car or you may be asked to leave without refund. We also ask that you adhere to our parking rules and ensure you are parked at the recommended distance from other cars. not affiliated with your group. If you have questions when you park, please do ask one of our parking attendants for help.

Can I drive my camper van/bus in to watch a movie?

Maaaaaayyyyyyybbbbeeeee. Please check with box office or one of our parking attendants regarding parking locations. We have designated zones to accommodate a few larger vehicles for movies. We cannot accommodate tow behinds and mobile homes longer than 20ft due to the limited number of parking spots we have to work with during the 2023 season. On slower nights we may be able to accommodate your vehicle. Thursdays and Sundays are a great time to show up with a camper if you’re trying to get a closer to the screen spot. There is no overnight camping on site at this time.

How can I hear the movie?

All you need to do is turn your car radio on, you can do this without turning your engine on, and tune it to the designated station. Check the Screen or ask at our snack bar where to tune in if you forget. It will be on the FM dial. We also offer CAPTIONED movies on Sundays when we can. So if you prefer to read your movie, Sundays are for you!

What if my car radio doesn’t work?

Not to fear! We do have a limited number of handheld radios you can borrow from our snack bar. We do ask that you leave a drivers license with us that you can retrieve when you return the radio.

What if my car won’t start after the movie?

That’s a bummer, but do not fear! Please see us in the snack bar. We have some fancy tech to get you jump started and back on your way without you having to call for a tow or CAA.

I cannot get my daytime running lights off, help!?

This happens all the time. Although we recommend you learn to do this before you arrive, if you’ve forgotten - our team can help. Before asking for help we recommend: try turning off your car, pulling your parking (or emergency) brake, then try turning your radio on (go to auxiliary). That usually does the trick because your emergency break/parking brake tells your car you’re not going anywhere and daytime running lights aren’t needed. With push button starts this usually means >> parking break on >> car off >> touch your start button WITHOUT your foot on the break. This should do the trick. Your car may turn off after 20min, don’t worry this is normal, just tap that stat button again without putting your foot on the break.

If this doesn’t do the trick, please feel free to grab a parking attendant to help tape your lights up with painters tape and garbage bags.

If you are at all concerned, you can also bring some dark towels or heavy blankets from home and cover your lights when you arrive.
